When your automated packaging line demands the fastest possible speeds in case forming, the Wayne Automation VCE Case Erector is the equipment for the job. This machine runs RSC, HSC, and AFM carton styles at speeds up to 75 cases per minute. Cases are bottom sealed upright and discharged vertically from the machine.
Case erecting speed is nothing without reliability and quality. That’s why the VCE includes a number of features to ensure cases are erected and glued consistently and correctly, regardless of the operating speed.
This automatic case erector is designed to ensure reliably formed boxes even when using long cases or weak walled cases from lower grade corrugated cardboard. Using inside and outside compression mandrels, cases are repeatedly glued securely and squarely. Additionally, vertical discharge means cases emerge ready for immediate packing. This gives fast-moving production lines the edge in efficiency, and facilitates further packaging automation.
Our box erecting machine can even be further enhanced with our Automated Magazine Loader. This servo-driven mechanical device avoids repetitive and wasteful machine refills, and allows for reduced operator involvement at accelerated production rates. It can also be set up with pre-programmed recipes from the integrated HMI to make changeovers even more seamless.
When we say high-speed, that doesn’t just mean our cases per minute. It also applies to production changeover. Wayne case erecting equipment is engineered to allow all adjustments to be made quickly, and without tools. Hand wheels and counters ensure quick, repeatable production setups. Compression mandrels are swapped with a simple pull pin. The VCE auto case erector is also available with motorized adjustments, allowing for one-touch selection of pre-programmed products from the HMI to automatically perform job changeovers.
The VCE incorporates thoughtful design features that virtually eliminate costly and time-consuming downtime. Our driveline has automatic shock absorbing tensioners to increase component life many times over that of typical implementations. Lubrication points are centralized outside of the machine, and are available with fully automatic lubricators. And, through our available Total Planned Maintenance (TPM) upgrades, daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks are displayed on the HMI with color photos directing the task.
Wayne’s dedication to maintenance goes well beyond design. Our engineering team is on call 24 hours a day to ensure your success. We service, support, and upgrade our machines constantly to make sure that your productivity keeps growing, and your product is as fresh as possible when it reaches your customers. It’s this above-and-beyond dedication to our customers that makes Wayne not just an OEM, but a true partner to your business.
We design our machines to be the best high speed case erectors on the market, and that means safety and operator ease. This includes easy-to-use controls, redundant emergency systems, and uncompromising build quality.
All box erector functions are controlled through state-of-the-art Allen-Bradley microelectronics and communicated to the operator through a large, color touch screen interface. Like all Wayne machines, the VCE comes standard with Lexan doors, equipped with anti-intrusion switches to prevent accidents. A rotary brake locks machine motion to ensure safe access during maintenance and changeover operations. Finally, remote emergency and cycle stop stations are located around the case erector and the status is displayed on the main operator panel.
