The Wayne Automation WBC has smashed the convention that the beverage carrier section of your line requires many machines consuming large portions of your floor space. This machine was designed from the outset to provide the carrier opening and erecting function in a compact footprint so as to allow for replacement of existing carrier opener systems or become your stand-alone opener erector. The compact footprint of the WBC requires only 16 feet of line space. The in-line magazine allows the machine to be less than five feet in width, and facilitates loading and operation from either side of the machine.

At the heart of the WBC Basket Carrier Erector is an innovative approach to opening and erecting the beverage carriers that greatly reduces waste carriers. The patented opener system erects two simultaneous lines of carriers in the upright position eliminating the need to stand carriers up from their sides and use lane diverters. Any unlatched carriers are detected and rejected, reducing the potential for jams at the inserter station.

The discharge lanes contain unlatched carrier detection and rejection system to prevent unlatched carriers from creating downstream jams. The machine includes comprehensive jam detection and fault logic to rapidly stop and isolate the cause of jams preventing material waste and machine damage.

The machine can be configured to open large or small carriers, 187mL or 12oz, 4-pack or 6-pack. The machine supports rapid changeovers between similar width carriers. To facilitate changeovers and product setups, the machine includes scaling and numbered changeover points, as well as an automatic slow speed jog function facilitating easy confirmation and troubleshooting of the mechanical setup.

The WBC includes a comprehensive guard package and full-length polycarbonate doors with anti-intrusion switches. All of the functions of the machine can be readily observed through the guard doors and are fully accessible for easy maintenance. Multiple remote emergency and cycle stop stations are included around the perimeter of the machine for easy access.
